<p>The latching ring (6) for the coupling sleeve (3) is at least partly located in the inside wall of the first pipe (1) or the outside of the second pipe (2). The ring cross-section has two ends oriented towards each other which lie in a flat main plane when not deformed and which define an axis. These ends are moved apart in the direction of this axis so that the ring adopts a helical shape. The ring periphery adopts a pitched state corresponding to a part of the spiral, so that when the second pipe is rotated relative to the first pipe about this axis, it follows the shape of the spiral, causing a relative axial displacement so that the end region of the second pipe can be removed from inside the first pipe. The ring is elastically deformable and its periphery lies on the peripheral plane of an imaginary rotation symmetrical body having a diameter less than the external diameter of the coupling end of the second pipe and greater than the diameter of pipe passage. The ring acts as a latching part for screwing into a spiral groove on the inside of a coupling sleeve placed over the end of the first pipe. The second pipe is then inserted into the sleeve.</p> |
