PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a retardation film having little biaxiality, a small Nz coefficient, and a slow axis in an oblique direction.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for a retardation film includes; producing a laminate by sticking a film to be stretched and an obliquely pre-stretched film together such that a preset stretch direction of the film to be stretched is substantially perpendicular to an alignment direction of the obliquely pre-stretched film; gripping left and right edges of the laminate using left and right variable-pitch clips, respectively, whose longitudinal clip pitches are variable; pre-heating the laminate; obliquely stretching the laminate by individually changing the clip pitches of the left and right clips; and releasing the clips gripping the laminate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
