PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that allows an illumination of an indicator in a finder to be irradiated at fixed intensity without relaying upon presence or absence of a periodic and consecutive operation of a light metering sensor.SOLUTION: An electronic camera includes: light metering means; illumination means that is display means in a finder; pulse creation means that creates a pulse signal for implementing a light-up control of the illumination means; and accumulative period-of-time detection means that detects a period of time for which the light metering means implements an accumulative operation; and accumulative operation period determination means that determines an accumulative operation period of the light metering means. The pulse creation means is configured to calculate a DUTY ratio of the pulse signal for implementing the light-up control of the illumination means on the basis of a light metering value measured by the light metering means, the accumulative period of time detected by the accumulative period-of-time detection means, and the accumulative operation period determined by the accumulative operation period determination means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
