PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery system that can more properly perform a continual operation as compared with a prior art when it is difficult to perform a water self-sustained operation of the fuel battery system due to an environmental condition or operating condition.SOLUTION: A fuel battery system 100 has a reformer 101, a fuel battery 102, a condenser 103, a condensed water tank 104, a reformed water supplier 105, a water level detector 106, an exhaust gas cooler 107, a cooling determination unit 108, and a controller 109. When a first water level corresponding to water shortage of the condensed water tank 104 is detected by using the water level detector 106, the controller 109 executes a water saving mode for reducing the output of the fuel battery 102 irrespective of an external power load to reduce the use amount of reformed water. When it is determined by using the cooling determination unit 108 during the water saving mode that the exhaust gas cooling capability of a cooling medium at the condenser 103 is not less than a predetermined value, the controller 109 executes a water withdrawing mode for increasing the output of the fuel battery 102 irrespective of the external power load to increase the withdrawal amount of condensed water.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
