<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which a correct video signal is input into a display regardless of whether a luminance signal and a color-difference signal, or a three-primary color signal of R, G, and B is input as a video signal and which is also applied to the case wherein the video signal is a digital signal. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is provided with a display panel which has picture elements composed of a plurality of pixels differing in coloration, a video format conversion circuit which inputs a luminance/color difference signal including luminance information and color difference information and converts the luminance/color difference signal into an RGB signal corresponding to light emission colors of the pixels, and a controller which inputs the RGB signal and outputs the RGB signal to the display panel in driving timing. The video format conversion circuit enables the RGB signal and luminance/color difference signal to be switched and displayed, and the contrast is improved to make the picture quality better. A processing system for the video signal can be made fully digital and can have noise-tolerant circuit constitution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
