PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head mount display device in which the influence from the distortion aberration of a lens is suppressed.SOLUTION: A head mount display device 1 comprises: an image display element 10 displaying a two-dimensional image; an eyepiece 20 that magnifies and displays the image display element 10; and a holding mechanism 30 that holds the image display element 10 and the eyepiece 20. An eyeball 101 of an observer can observe a magnified virtual image 1010 of the image displayed on the image display element 10 through the eyepiece 20. The image display element 10 is a matrix-type two-dimensional display device. A central part 11 of the image display element 10 has a shape of a flat plate. Right and left side parts 12a and 12b of the image display element 10 have a shape of a curved plate; specifically, the cross section in the horizontal direction is curved closer to the eyepiece 20 than to the extension line of the central part 11. In the image display element 10, the pixel size is larger in the side parts 12a and 12b than in the central part 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
