<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which performs the process of reinforcing a recording medium so that the recording medium punched or stapled cannot not easily be torn. <P>SOLUTION: In addition to the images, as of a text document, to be formed, the image forming apparatus forms on a recording medium additional images by which specific parts including the images of punched holes or staples are made solid. The image forming apparatus forms the additional images with white developer or transparent developer. Since the thickness of the recording medium increases by an amount corresponding to the amount of white developer or transparent developer forming the additional images, parts near the punched holes or the staples are reinforced. Thus, the recording medium cannot easily be torn. Overlap of the images and the additional images is avoided by reducing the size of the images or altering the position of the images when inages and additional images are overlapped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
