PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of more appropriately determining the life of a developing device.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a remaining amount acquisition part that acquires the amount of a developer to be stored in a developer container; a coefficient acquisition part that acquires a correction coefficient according to the amount of the developer to be stored in the developer container; a correction distance acquisition part that, every time the distance of travel of a developer carrier increases by a predetermined distance, acquires a correction distance obtained by correcting the predetermined distance with the correction coefficient, and acquires the total correction distance obtained by integrating the correction distances; and a life determination part that the life of a developing device has expired when the total correction distances acquired by the correction distance acquisition part exceeds a predetermined threshold or the amount of the developer acquired by the remaining amount acquisition part falls to a predetermined threshold or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
