PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drawing die with which the thickness deviation of a cupped work is reduced and whose life is prolonged by preventing uneven wear by melt sticking or the like in the drawing die which is used in a cupping stage of an aluminum can. SOLUTION: This die is the drawing die which is used in the cupping stage of the formation of the aluminum can, a clamping surface 4 for interposing an aluminum sheet W which is capped between the annular surface and a draw pad 7 which is provided separably and touchably on the main body 1 of the die opposing to this annular surface is formed on the annular surface on one side of the main body 1 of an annular die 1, and this clamping surface 4 is finished to have the surface roughness Ry of 0.05-0.1 S by performing mirror- finishing.
