<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To search for a therapeutic agent which is efficacious against intractable diseases causing visual cell injuries such as retinal pigment degeneration, cone dystrophy, age-related macular degeneration, age-related maculopathy, macular edema, retinal detachment and so on and provide a material which is useful in regenerating visual cells or functions thereof. <P>SOLUTION: By injecting fat-derived interstitial cells into an injured part of visual cells or a tissue around it, the visual cells or the functions thereof can be regenerated and thus an excellent effect of suppressing retinal degeneration can be established. Thus, fat-derived interstitial cells are useful as a remedy for diseases causing visual cell injuries such as retinal pigment degeneration, cone dystrophy, age-related macular degeneration, age-related maculopathy, macular edema, retinal detachment, cancer-associated retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, retinal pigment epithelial detachment and so on and, moreover, can be used as an excellent material for regenerating visual cells or the functions thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
