MIXTURES OF BROMINATED DIPHENYL ETHANES AND METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A mixture of brominated diphenyl ethanes is provided to improve compatibility, mechanical property and fire resistance compared with general brominated diphenyl ethanes. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a mixture of brominated diphenyl ethanes comprises the steps of: adding a brominating agent in a mixed solution of a solvent, catalyst and diphenylethane; and reacting the mixture at a reaction temperature of -20 to 40 °C to prepare a mixed composition of the brominated diphenyl ethanes. The average bromine content per brominated diphenyl ethane molecule is 72-78 weight%.
