PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing two color golf balls that have different coloring in non-circular dimples and spherical surface lands other than that.SOLUTION: In a golf ball 10, two-color patterns comprising the color of a base cover layer of spherical surface lands and the paint color of non-circular dimples are formed on the surface of the golf ball. In that case, cutting cylinders each having a polishing surface of the curvature substantially equal to the spherical surface of the spherical surface lands other than the non-circular dimples of the golf ball on the tip are movably provided in the horizontal direction to the ball. While pouring water into a golf ball surface, the cutting cylinders are advanced to the ball while being rotated around an axial center. The tip polishing surface is brought into contact with the spherical surface lands other than the non-circular dimples, and the surface paint of the spherical surface lands is polished or cut, and thereby the paint of the spherical surface lands other than the non-circular dimples is peeled off.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
