The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a functional fabric having an optical illusion effect. According to the present invention, an adhesive fabric including linear patterns having different colors is woven and a three-dimensional protruding portion and a compressed portion are formed on each linear pattern line. The three-dimensional protruding portions of the respective linear patterns are formed to deviate from each other with respect to the direction of the linear patterns and the three-dimensional protruding portion on one of the linear pattern lines is formed to protrude with a step higher than the three-dimensional protruding portion on the other linear pattern line and the compressed portion. Accordingly, an optical illusion effect can be given as if the shape, color, and the like of the linear pattern varied with viewing angles and directions. Therefore, a unique sense different from those of existing fabrics can be given to consumers and the added value of the functional fabric can be improved.
