PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide color filters for a liquid crystal display device which consist of black matrix layers having sufficiently high optical densities and sufficiently low reflectivity and have good surface flatness as the color filters for the liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The color filters 1 for the liquid crystal display device have a transparent glass substrate 10, color filter layers 20 formed in the form of pixels on the transparent glass substrate and the black matrix layers 40 consisting of the black resin compsn. formed between the pixels and in the peripheral parts of the pixels. The black matrix layers 30 packed with the black resin compsn. approximately flush with the pixels are formed within recessed parts 3 of which the bottoms have rough surfaces and which are formed on the transparent glass substrate surfaces between the pixels and in the peripheral parts of the pixels. |
