a carrier comprised of fibrous materials having a first surface and a second surface opposing the first surface; a plurality of parallel strips of a thermally activatable material on the first surface of the carrier; wherein the plurality of parallel strips are aligned to define portions of the carrier that are free of any activatable material; and wherein the device is a reinforcement member.
