A method for recording or searching for an image in a digital video is provided to enable a user to record and search for a plurality of monitor images associated with a monitor camera required by a user more effectively. A plurality of cameras connected to a digital video recorder(DVR) are selected and grouped as a linked camera group. When an image of a predetermined camera of the linked camera group is recorded or searched, the images of cameras belonging to the linked camera group are recorded or searched at the same time. A menu screen image enabling a user interface to set the linked camera group is displayed. The screen image of a monitor is divided into a plurality of sub-images according to the number of the searched camera images.
