摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device of which the contrast is prevented from dropping, and the viewing angle characteristics is improved, and an electronic apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The transflective and reflective type liquid crystal device 100 has a first substrate 10 and a second substrate 20 placed opposite to each other and having a liquid crystal layer 50 interposed in between, and comprises a sub-pixel region having a reflective display region R conducting a reflective display and a transmissive display region T conducting a transmissive display, wherein layer thickness of the liquid crystal layer 50 in the reflective display region R is less than that in the transmissive display region T. A retardation layer 23 is disposed on the transmissive display region and on the reflective display region on the liquid crystal layer 50 side of the second substrate 20.
