<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device and a content management method capable of making a content, which the user wants to watch and listen, correspond to a renderer, which the user wants to use preferentially, and also capable of storing renderer priority information corresponding to acquired content information. <P>SOLUTION: A controller unit 22 in the communication device 2 acquires renderer information of a renderer 3. A server unit 23 in the communication device 2 generates, according to the renderer information acquired by the controller unit 22, a virtual folder provided for each renderer and storing a content reproducible by the renderer 3, and also extracts, according to the renderer information, the content reproducible by the renderer 3 to store it into the corresponding virtual folder provided for each renderer.
