A sub body opening/closing sensing device of a portable terminal having a sub body opening in two directions is provided to sense opening/closing actions of the sub body operating in two directions through one sensor, thereby reducing a manufacturing cost while an incorrect terminal operation caused by mutual interference by installation of two sensors can be prevented. A detection sensor is installed at a position of a main body whose vertical opening/closing trace is overlapped with a horizontal opening/closing trace of a sub body. The first sensed unit is installed at the right place of the sub body so as to be sensed by the detection sensor, only when the sub body is opened in length direction. The second sensed unit is installed at the right place of the sub body so as to be sensed by the detection sensor, only when the sub body is opened in width direction.
