Method of operating a battery-powered load in a motor vehicle

the method involves taking the load (1) out of operation when the battery voltage (UB) reaches a lower threshold value. The lower threshold is defined using a previously measured 100 per cent voltage specific to the battery. The 100 per cent voltage is determined by measuring the battery temp., activating the load over a period of time, detecting the pole voltage (UM) under load, taking the load out of operation and measuring the pole voltage again , whereby the 100 per cent voltage level is the pole voltage under load.
