PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-slice X-ray CT apparatus having an X-ray detector with little characteristic variation among X-ray detecting elements, and capable of coping with variations of slicing. SOLUTION: An X-ray beam 60 constricted by a slicing-direction collimator 61 is made to impinge on the scintillator 2 of the X-ray detecting element 1 of an X-ray detecting element array 10 and is measured. The X-ray detecting element array 10 comprises X-ray detectingelements 1 split into twelve each being 1.25 mm thick in the slicing direction, and signals output from the light detecting elements 3 of three of the elements 1 at each end are combined into one, while the other signals are directly output. Signals output from the X-ray detecting elements 1 are combined into four output signals by a switch circuit 5 and amplified by four amplification circuits 40, after which they are reconfigured by four image reconfiguration circuits 50 into four slice images, which are then directly passed through an image addition circuit 51. The four images are each 1.25 mm in slice thickness and correspond to X-ray beams 60A-60D.
