PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a walking- and planetary reduction-type tending machine to be assembled so as to change gears without causing the early abrasion of a sun gear and planetary gears, the generation of allophones and the enlargement of the machine. SOLUTION: In a walking-type tending machine where power from an engine 1 having a vertical output shaft 1a is transmitted through both a planetary reduction device 5 having the output shaft 1a as a sun gear and a vertical transmission shaft 6 placed on the same axial center P1 as the shaft 1a to a horizontal output shaft 8 placed in the lower part of a transmission case 2 inside housing both the device 5 and the shaft 6, a change gear 16 is furnished to change gears in transmission from the device 5 to the shaft 6 by a shift operation in a direction along the shaft 6.
