PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of removing a discharge product such as a nitrate compound deposited on an image carrier surface, in a short time. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a drive control means for turning an image carrier surface portion opposed to a charger 20, up to an area P1 having an effect thereon of a removing action of a cleaning means 60, when transiting from a stop state or stand-by state of the device to an image forming operation thereof, and for inching-turning it normal-directionally and reverse-directionally around the removing action area P1 as the center.
