A ship manufacturing method for joining an engine room block with a main engine and a ship block is provided to divide the procedures and improve integration degree of ship construction, thereby reducing the construction period. A ship manufacturing method for joining an engine room block with a main engine and a ship block comprises mounting a main engine on an engine room block(20), transporting the engine room block to a slip way, combining the engine room block to the tail end of a hull block(22), and aligning the centers of the engine room block and the hull block by using a centering unit. The centering unit is composed of a jig(50) attached to the lower surface of the ship for length adjustment, a target plate(56) combined on the bottom of the jig, and a laser beam(58) collimating light to the target plate.
