SPREAD SPECTRUM COMMUNICATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spread spectrum communication apparatus capable of easily carrying out handover between different frequencies.

SOLUTION: The spread spectrum communication apparatus comprises a radio frequency receiver 25 that intermittently receives frames compressed in a compression mode, a timing/inverse spreading unit 51 that detects a first search code and a second search code during non-transmission period in a compression mode, a detection determiner 52 that detects these search codes with a predetermined reference, and a controller 21E that controls the handover between different frequencies by establishing synchronization to another frequency carrier on the basis of the first and second search codes detected by the detection determiner 52.
