PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect a substance generated form a human body or from an environment.SOLUTION: A washing machine 200 includes: a washing tub 202 in which clothes and water are inputted; a holding part 213 for separating a part of water from the washing tub 202 and for holding a part of the separated water; a detection part 210 for performing detection of a predetermined substance contained in the one part of the water held by the holding part 213 and for outputting information showing a detection result; and a detergent input part for performing input of the detergent for washing into the washing tub or giving an instruction of input of the detergent into the washing tub to a user, after the holding part 213 has separated the one part of water.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
