1. A transaction authentication system, comprising:
a wireless communication module; a biometric trait reader device; a first secure element that is coupled to the biometric trait reader device, wherein the first secure element stores first user biometric trait verification data for authenticating a first user, and wherein the first secure element is configured to:
receive a biometric trait input that was provided by the first user through the biometric trait reader device in order to effect a value transfer associated with a first user account of the first user;verify the biometric trait input using the first user biometric trait verification data; andin response to verifying the biometric trait input, transmit a transaction authentication to the second secure element; and a second secure element that is coupled to the wireless communication module and the first secure element, wherein the second secure element is configured to:
receive the transaction authentication from the first secure element; andin response to receiving the transaction authentication, generate and transmit instruction codes to effect the value transfer associated with the first user account. |
