The material consists of several profiled layered foils of eg. aluminium. The wave formed profile foils (1) has parallel wave peaks (2) and troughs (3). Wedges (4) are folded into the wave troughs, and the foils lie freely on top of each other, connected only at the edge via a seam (9) consisting of pressure points (8). The wave peaks, troughs and the folded in wedges are triangular in cross-section, preferably with a flattened peak. The wave troughs adjacent to the wedges have an adjacent foil and have bending lines (6) in their upper surface (5), such that the foils bend along these lines perpendicular to the wave peaks and troughs. USE/ADVANTAGE - Industrial insulation, vehicle heat insulation. Provides good insulating characteristic with inherent material stiffness.
