The aim of the invention is to produce prepregs with a uniform and sufficient loading of the fibres (2, 16) with particles of thermoplastic material (18). This aim is achieved by a method which comprises at least the following steps: producing an aqueous dispersion containing a colloid-disperse phase with particles (17) of a particle size of <0.5 µm and a coarse-disperse phase with particles of thermoplastic material (18) of a particle size of between 1 and 400 µm, applying the dispersion to the fibres (2, 16) and stripping off excess dispersion and drying the prepreg. When impregnating the fibres (2, 16), the particles (16) of the colloid-disperse phase penetrate deeply between the fibres (2, 16) and attach themselves to the individual fibres (16), wherein the particles of thermoplastic material (18) of the coarse-disperse phase are entrained and, after the drying, are bonded with the fibres (2, 16) by adhesion. |
