A system and a method for managing articles are provided to transfer the articles easily to a recipient by using an automatic luggage locker for enabling the recipient, who enters an apartment, or a one-room or office building with an RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) card, to recognize whether the articles are kept in the automatic luggage locker. A luggage locker(110) keeps articles, generates/transmits RFID information of a recipient, and discharges the articles by receiving an authentication result including article storage information in response to the transmitted RFID information. An article management server(100) generates the article storage information by checking whether the article is delivered to a room number corresponding to the RFID information, generates the authentication result by performing recipient authentication in the luggage locker, and transmits the authentication result to the luggage locker. A display device(120) generates and transmits the RFID information to the article management server by reading an RFID card of the recipient, and receives and displays the article storage information generated from the article management server. |
