<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device which is reduced in volume, weight and manufacturing cost and can improve the availability of light in an LCD device. <P>SOLUTION: The transflective liquid crystal display includes a 1st substrate, a 2nd substrate, a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the 1st substrate and 2nd substrate, a light emitting device installed at an end of the 1st substrate, an insulating layer formed on the 1st substrate and including a plurality of notches formed obliquely to the horizontal and including a 1st side wall and a 2nd side wall, a 1st reflecting layer provided on the insulating layer and extended onto the 2nd side wall to face the light emitting device, and an internal polarizing film formed on the 1st reflecting layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
