PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side cutting excavator capable of having high excavation efficiency and stirring efficiency and continuously executing corner sections. SOLUTION: A base frame 90 is provided to a self-driving truck 14 to vertically mount a guide frame 16, and a feed base 18 is provided along the guide frame 16 in a vertically movable manner. An excavation cutter 28 having cutter rods 36A, 50A, 50B and a flexible cutter rods 36B both in front and in the rear is mounted to the feed base 18. The feed base 18 is lowered to excavate the ground up to specific depth while rotating the cutter rods 36A, 50A, 50B and flexible cutter rod 36B, and then, the guide frame 16 is driven forward while rotating the cutter rods 36A, 50A, 50B and flexible cutter rod 36B to continuously excavate the ground in the horizontal direction.
