PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method for a light-emitting device by which the luminance of a light-emitting element is prevented from varying due to the characteristics of a TFT that controls current supplied to the light-emitting element, the luminance of the light-emitting element is prevented from decreasing due to deterioration in an organic luminescent layer and further a constant luminance can be obtained regardless of the deterioration or the temperature change of the organic luminescent layer.SOLUTION: By controlling the luminance of the light-emitting element not by means of voltage to be applied to the TFT but by means of controlling current that flows to the TFT in a signal line drive circuit, current that flows to the light-emitting element is held at a desired value regardless of the characteristics of the TFT. Further, voltage of inverted bias is applied to the light-emitting element every predetermined period. Since a multiplier effect is given by the two configurations described above, it is possible to prevent the luminance from decreasing due to the deterioration in the organic luminescent layer, and further, it is possible to maintain the current that flows to the light-emitting element at the desired value regardless of the characteristics of the TFT.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 19 |
