PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support structure for an exterior material excellent in an aseismatic property and allowing simple and safe execution of the exterior material. SOLUTION: This support structure for an exterior material 6 supports the exterior material 6 on the skeleton wall 5 of a concrete building. The support structure is constituted of substrate metals 2 formed into a trough shape and fitted to the skeleton wall 5 by support bolts 1, an angular pipe 3 supported in the vertical direction by a plurality of substrate metals 2 arranged in the vertical direction and serving as a vertical furring strip, and the exterior material locked to the angular pipe 3. The minimum opening width of the substrate metal 2 is set to a size capable of pinching the angular pipe 3, the angular pipe 3 is inserted into the substrate metals 2 and is temporarily tacked, and unevenness is adjusted.
