<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizing unit which enhances photocatalytic activity by efficiently irradiating a deodorizing filter having a photocatalytic feature with light and is inexpensive by reducing the number of components. <P>SOLUTION: The deodorizing unit comprises a deodorizing filter 2 which carries powder, that is in a powder form and has an optical regeneration feature, on a resin, a fixing member 5 for housing the deodorizing filter 2, an LED 3 to which power is supplied from the fixing member 5, and an optical path member 4 for irradiating the deodorizing filter 2 with the light emitted by the LED 3. The optical path member 4 is molded in the form of a column and has a cross-sectional area reduced gradually from a light receiving side while having a surface facing the deodorizing filter 2 as a slanting surface 4b. The optical path member 4 receives the light of the LED 3 at an end surface 4a and emits the light to the deodorizing filter 2 from a face in the longitudinal direction. The deodorizing filter 2 has its photocatalytic activity enhanced by the emitted light and obtains an effect to increase the deodorizing function. In addition, the inexpensive deodorizing unit is obtained by holding the deodorizing filter 2, the LED 3, and the optical path member 4 by the fixing member 5 which is the same component. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
