WAVEGUIDE TYPE WAVELENGTH MULTIPLEX TRANSMISSION/ RECEPTION MODULE

PURPOSE:To facilitate the assembly and to suppress electric crosstalk and optical crosstalk by providing a waveguide submodule which guides light beams with 1st and 2nd wavelengths, and a light emitting element submodule and a light receiving element submodule which are enclosed electrically and optically. CONSTITUTION:The subject module is equipped with the waveguide submodule 10 which guides the light with the 1st wavelength from a 1st coupling part 14 to a 2nd coupling part 16 and the light with the 2nd wavelength from the 2nd coupling part 16 to a 3rd coupling part 18, and the light emitting element submodule 11 and light receiving element submodule 12 which are enclosed electrically and optically. Therefore, the light lambda1 with the 1st wavelength from a semiconductor laser 20 is guided to the optical fiber coupling part from the 1st coupling part 14 through the 2nd coupling part 16 and the light with the 2nd wavelength from the optical fiber coupling part is made incident on a light receiving element 23 through the 3rd coupling part 18 from the 2nd coupling part 16, so that the light beams with the 1st and 2nd wavelengths can be transmitted/received. Consequently, the assembly is facilitated and optical crosstalk and electric crosstalk can be suppressed.
