<p>The invention concerns a thermostat for an electrical household appliance comprising a heating body (1) with a plate (2) in thermal connection with heating elements, said thermostat further comprising an electromagnetic relay for switching off power supply to the heating elements, at least a thermistor inserted in the relay control circuit and arranged proximate a water-heating zone or in thermal contact with the hotplate (2) if it is present. The invention is characterised in that the minimum value of the electrical resistance presented by the thermistor or assembly of thermistors, is determined such that the maximum electric current admitted into the rely control circuit, when the appliance is operating normally, is higher than the retaining current of the relay closed contacts, but less than the current enabling the relay contacts to be closed.</p> |
