MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording and reproducing device of a low noise by using a sound absorbing material of a porous layer having a specific gravity variation for absorbing noise. CONSTITUTION:The upper face and side face of a rotating drum device are covered by using a porous structure 14 equipped with a porous layer 16 having its specific gravity varied continuously in the layer thickness direction or layer face direction and a nonpermeable fusion layer 15 of smaller void content than that of a porous layer 16 integrated with its fusion to the outside of the porous layer 16. Namely, a sound absorption plate 12a using a porous structure 14 for absorbing the noise of a mechanical part is fixed by a screw 13 to a front loading mechanism 5 and head amplifier 7, and a drum and loading motor are fitted so as to cover from the upper and side faces. The noise generated by a rotary drum and motion sound of a mechanical part can be made difficult to be leaked to the device external part.
