Provided is a capsule endoscope system wherein the posture of a capsule endoscope introduced into a subject can be changed by the capsule endoscope itself. A capsule endoscope system 1 is provided with a capsule endoscope 10 and a control device 20. The capsule endoscope 10 has: a position and posture information sending unit 14, which sends information indicating the posture of the capsule endoscope; and a posture changing unit 16 that changes the posture of the capsule endoscope. The control device 20 has: a position and posture detection unit 25 that detects the posture of the capsule endoscope on the basis of the information indicating the posture; a target posture calculation unit 26 that calculates the target posture of the capsule endoscope on the basis of an image inside of the subject; a posture control signal generating unit 27 that generates posture control signals of the capsule endoscope on the basis of the posture and the target posture of the capsule endoscope; and a control signal transmission unit 28 that transmits the posture control signals to the capsule endoscope. The posture changing unit 16 changes the posture of the capsule endoscope on the basis of the posture control signals. |
