Language learning exchange

Systems and methods to enable users to communicate via a language learning exchange are provided herein. One aspect includes registering through a computing device one or more users in a user community of an online language learning platform, the one or more users associated with profile information comprising user name, native language, and language of interest elements; accessing language content for use by the one or more users; matching the one or more users with one or more complementary users; and making the language content available to the users via a language learning exchange interface.

at least one processor; and a memory device operatively connected to the at least one processor; wherein, responsive to execution of program instructions accessible to the at least one processor, the at least one processor is configured to:
identify a first user in a user community of a language learning platform;identify, for the first user, associated profile information comprising user name, native language, and language of interest elements;match the first user with one or more complementary users by using the profile information to automatically identify one or more complementary users in the user community who have:
a native language that matches the language of interest of the first user,a language of interest that matches the native language of the first user, andadditional profile information that matches additional profile information of the first user;present the first user with results that include the identified one or more complementary users;receive, from the first user, a request to communicate with one of the identified complementary users in a language learning exchange;access language content provided by the registered user; andmake the language content available to the registered user and one or more of the complementary users with a learning exchange interface for selection in the language learning exchange.
