PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing high-strength coke by formulating a large quantity of non-coking coal or weakly coking coal. SOLUTION: This method for producing high-strength coke comprises formulating coal <0.8 in reflectance and another kind of coal >=0.8 in reflectance; wherein the former coal is previously pulverized so as to be substantially 100 wt.%-passable through 5mm-sieve and >=80 wt.%-passable through 3mm-sieve, while pulverizing the latter coarser than the former in general.
