PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer for generating a label whose visibility is improved by changing a color emphasis degree of a pattern having an arbitrary shape and to provide a printing method for generating the label whose visibility is improved in the printer.SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes: a color emphasis degree storage section for storing a table of color emphasis degrees of individual stages of a plurality of colors; an input section for inputting a pattern having an arbitrary shape; a color emphasis degree designation section for designating the color emphasis degree for the input pattern inputted by the input section in response to the table; a range designation section for designating a color emphasis pattern from the input patterns; and a color emphasis degree change section for enlarging the color emphasis degree of the color emphasis pattern when the color emphasis pattern is not a maximum color emphasis degree and reduces the color emphasis degree of the input pattern except for the color emphasis pattern when the color emphasis pattern is the maximum color emphasis degree. |
