A three dimensional modeling method for linear road data and an apparatus for executing the method are provided to supply a 3D modeling algorithm which makes linear road data polygonal, thereby providing a map image of improved display quality. A 3D modeling apparatus of linearization road data comprises a map database(110), a searching unit(120), and a storage unit(130) and a 3D modeling module(140). The map database stores and keeps map data about a nationwide map. The searching unit searches predetermined linearization road data in the map database and linearization information related to the linearization road data. The storage unit temporarily stores linearization road data searched in the searching unit and linearization information of the linearization road data. A vector information calculation unit(141) calculates vector information of the linearization road data. A shape generating unit(142) generates a 3D shape of the linearization road data by using the vector information. A polygon configuration unit(143) comprises a polygon about the 3D shape of the linearization road data.
