PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a metal plate by which fine parts of an ultra thin sheet can easily and highly precisely be formed. SOLUTION: The ultra thin sheet 3 is installed on and fixed to a die 2 having a fine recessed shape 1 which is a target shape. A plurality of pulses of the ultra short pulse laser 9 are emitted to a region 8 of the ultra thin sheet having a space 7 between the die and itself from the opposite side of the die. By pressing the region 10 of the ultra thin sheet against the recessed shape 1 of the die by the pressure due to the generated impulse wave and making it adhere closely, the ultra thin sheet is formed into a fine profile.
