METHOD FOR HYDROLYZING SUGAR COMPOUND

PURPOSE:To provide the method for hydrolyzing a saccharide compound useful for analyzing the structures of sugar chains, and further to provide a reagent for the hydrolysis. CONSTITUTION:The method for hydrolyzing the lacto-N-bioxide bond of the sugar compound comprises allowing a glycosidase selectively and specifically hydrolyzing only the lacto-N-bioxide bond at the non-reductive end of the sugar compound of general formula: Galbeta1-3G1cNAcbeta-R (R expresses a sugar residue) to act the lacto-N-bioxide bond. And the reagent for hydrolyzing the lacto-N- bioxide bond of the sugar compound contains the glycosidase.
