PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device with which it is possible to lighten the visually induced motion sickness and eye fatigue of a user.SOLUTION: An image display device 10 comprises: an eyeball angular velocity calculation unit 120 for calculating, on the basis of an expression: (eyeball angular velocity)=2 arctan (s/2d)/t, the eyeball angular velocity of a viewer when viewing an object using a movement distance S for which an object included in a moving image moves on a screen between two consecutive frames, a time interval t between the two consecutive frames, and a viewing distance d that is the distance between the viewer and the screen; a determination unit 130 for determining whether the calculated eyeball angular velocity is equal to or greater than the lower-limit value of an eyeball angular velocity in saccadic eye movement; and an image processing unit 140: (a) stopping the moving image or replacing the moving image with a monochrome image when it is determined that the calculated eyeball angular velocity is equal to or greater than the lower-limit value, (b) not stopping the moving image and not replacing the moving image with a monochrome image when it is determined that the calculated eyeball angular velocity is less than the lower-limit value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
