Radiation curable composition, useful for production of adhesive, abrasion resistant coatings

A radiation curable composition (I) contains: (A) a (meth)acryloxy group containing linear organopolysiloxane of formula Ra<1>R3-aSiO(R2SiO)cR2Si-Y-SiR2O(R2SiO)cdSiR3-bRb<1> (1), and (B) a photosensitiser. In (I), R = 1-18C hydrocarbon, not containing terminal multiple C-C bonds; R<1> = CH2=C(R<2>)C(O)O(R<3>O)z C(R<4>)=HCR<4>(OR<3>)zOC(O)CR<2>=CH2; z =1-10; R<2> = H, methyl; R<3>, R<4> = 1-6C alkylene; Y = divalent organic group, not containing terminal multiple C-C bonds; a, b = 0, 1; a+b = 1, 2; c = 1-1000; and d = 0, 1-10. Also claimed are: (i) a linear organopolysiloxane of formula (1); (ii) a linear organopolysiloxane containing S-H bonds of formula (1) where R<1> = H; and (iii) a process for the production of coatings containing adhesive material by application of a crosslinkable composition that contains (I) and curing by irradiation.
