<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser drive unit having less EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference) and having low reproduction noise by modulating an oscillation frequency of a high frequency superposition block by using a low frequency oscillator to widen a frequency spectral width. <P>SOLUTION: The laser drive unit comprises a reproducing current generating block outputting a laser driving current for reproducing information recorded in a storage medium, at least one recording current generating block outputting a laser driving current for recording information in the storage medium, a first high frequency superposition block outputting an oscillation output current during reproduction by using a first control signal controlling reproduction and recording and a first modulation circuit modulating an oscillation frequency of the first high frequency superposition block. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
