The present invention provides a method and apparatus for preventing abrasion of a tire. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for preventing abrasion of a tire, which is performed by an apparatus for preventing abrasion of a tire, comprises: a step of measuring the speed of a vehicle; a step of measuring the vehicle′s steering wheel′s angle when the speed of the vehicle is a specific speed or less; a step of calculating the accumulation angle by accumulating the steering wheel′s angle; and a step of controlling the steering torque of the steering wheel depending on the accumulation angle. Accordingly, the accumulation angle is calculated by accumulating changes in the steering angle of the vehicle when the speed of the vehicle is at the specific speed or less, and the steering torque of the vehicle is reduced using the accumulation angle, thereby preventing abrasion of the tire. |
