An air vent 14 for a ventilation system mounted within a vent aperture 10 of a room, comprising a conduit 17 with an inlet 20 connected to an air supply duct 22 and an outlet 18 supplying air to the room and a filter assembly 30 for filtering the supply air, including at least an active carbon filter 36 for removing NOx or a particulate filter 34. The filter assembly may include both filters and preferably also a coarse pre-filter 32. It may be mounted within the conduit of the air vent, at least partially. It is preferably directly accessible from the ventilated room via the vent aperture, so that it can be easily serviced or replaced. The air vent may have a diffuser 24 at its outlet and adjustable vanes to regulate the air flow rate and guide the outflowing air appropriately. It may also be used for extracting air from a room, in which case it can include filtration and humidity sensing. A ventilation system comprising an air duct, a plurality of such air vents and preferably an air supply fan is also claimed. The system can be applied amongst else to residential properties. |
